Place

Geography

Azinbhat is one of the two kingdoms on the main continent. On the east and west coast, there's the Ocean and the rest of its borders are shared with the Khiz Empire . The border in the Northwest to Khiz is a Mountain range. Near the capital in the west, there are a few lakes and rivers that connect them to each other and the ocean.

Climate

The moderate climate of the area is settling in between 20–30 °C in summer at its peak, with a low of -30 °C in a very cold winter. Normally, the temperatures are somewhere in between -5 °C and -10 °C in the winter and settle around 25 °C in summer. The area has a lot of rain over the year, which gives the rivers in the west a high chance of floodings.

Resources

The gigantic forests are the homes to a variety of wild animals, including magical beasts, and have a huge variation of trees, some of them being one of a kind. In the mountains of Azinbhat, you can find a good bit of metals, mostly silver, cobalt, lead, and nickel. The seas also inhabit a diverse collection of fish and sea life, but most of them are keeping their distance from the coasts.

Architecture

Most building are relatively simple wooden houses with a lot of windows and room for outside lighting. Usually, the houses are adapted to the surroundings in order to leave nature as untouched as possible. Some people like to paint the walls and interior with bright floral ornaments or use different kinds of wood as accents. You rarely find houses built out of stone, most of them near the mountains in the Northwest.

People

Inhabitants & Social Structure

You can find all kinds of races in Azinbhat, from humans over wood elves and orcs to dryads and satyrs, you can find everything. Contrary to most other regions, there is no dominant race found in the lands. Most people live in small villages, and you'll rarely find bigger cities, except the ones used by the royals for political reasons.

If you put the royal family to the side, you don't have big social differences when it comes to wealth and standards of living. Almost everyone has enough to get by reasonably well and live their lives.

Politics

Azinbhat is a constitutional Monarchy, run by the noble house Roznakov.

The Monarchic Family and their court of advisors aren't willing to expand their land, but to let their Culture bloom and living in peace. They mainly keep to themselves, but have a good relation to the nomads of Vorde (mainly because of the shared ancestry that they have) and stand neutral to Derad and Silowia . There is a constant conflict with the Khiz Empire , which would like to colonialize the lands of Azinbhat.

Religion

The majority of people believe in Iras. They follow the belief that nature is holy and that you have to live in harmony with it and keep the natural balance up. Besides that, most forests have their own deity, represented by a giant one of a kind tree. Depending on that, their beliefs change.

Education

Because of the close relation to nature, you can find a lot of crafts related to wood, leather and ceramics, and at some point in your life there, you'll learn one of those things. You can also find a lot of excellent alchemists with a huge knowledge about regional herbs as well as herbs from all over the world.

If you look at local Adventurers, you mostly find druids, rangers, clerics, or sorcerers. You won't find magic scholars such as wizards, at least not locally taught.

Trading

When it comes to trading goods, Azinbhat is known for their Incredible combination of wood- and leather working for tools, furniture, and carriages and leather clothing, or you can just buy very high quality leather or wood to use yourself. You can also get very good ceramic dishes like plates, cups, bowls and so on. No one outside Azinbhat really knows how they do it, but their ceramics are more robust than the ones everywhere else and don't break that easily

Culture

Food

The typical food staple for the locals are dumplings. They fill them with an array of foraged or pickled foods, and maybe even meat if they have a good hunter nearby. You can also find a lot of egg dishes because of the huge population of different kinds of chickens. Most people hold livestock for milk, wool, or eggs and not for their meat, that's why meat is a rarity for most people and usually pretty expensive.

Fashion

The most important part about the clothing is that it's functional and long-lasting. But that doesn't mean that they're not decorated. Most pieces of clothing have some kind of fine embroidery on them or get stained with different naturals dyes. Leather is also used for almost every piece, either for decoration or for support of places that could rip easily. Most people wear leather shoes of some kind.

Something you will see a lot are different braiding techniques. From one or two big braids to uncountable fine braids, you can find everything you can imagine.

Technology

There's not much technology involved in the daily life of most people. But most don't see a need for it, since they can help themselves with divine magic. In every village, you'll find a small group of people in that know how to harness and use the force of magic to help the people around them.

Arts

The crafts they do always have something artistic about them. Be it an engraved pattern on the wooden tools, a floral pattern on ceramic plates, a finely embroidered picture on a skirt or the painted ornaments on the houses. The people like to combine everyday items with small, but beautiful art.

Their music mostly consists of string instruments like fiddles, lutes, or mandolins. Songs usually have present singing voice in them and the instruments are more in the background. Besides this kind of music, you can find a lot of working chants to keep a steady rhythm when working together.
